Why Choose PUMC Preschool?

There are many reasons why we feel PUMC is a wonderful choice for your child

Our StaffTeachers

We have an experienced staff with very low turnover.  The majority of our staff has been with the school for more than 10 years, with several teachers having taught with the school for more than 20 years.   They truly love working with young children and that shows every day in their commitment to their jobs.  In addition, all of our staff members are current in CPR including use of an onsite AED, First Aid, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse training.

Low Student to Teacher Ratios and Class Sizes

Our teacher/student ratios and class sizes meet and exceed the requirements of the State of Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

Program options to fit your child’s schedule.

For our three and four/five year old programs you have the choice in how many days per week your child will attend.   We have both a two and a three day a week programs for three year olds and a three or  a four day a week  program for four/five year olds.    You also have the option of choosing either morning or afternoon for all of our preschool programs.

Research based, developmentally appropriate approach to academics

Research shows that preschoolers learn best through play.  Our carefully designed curriculum will introduce all the academic concepts your child will need to know for kindergarten through games, experiments, and themed activities.

Safe and nurturing environment

We take the safety and well-being of our students seriously.   We offer a peanut-free environment for those with allergies.  Our low student/teacher ratios ensure that your child will be adequately supervised.  No child is ever left alone or unattended.  Children are only released to those people designated on their registration card.  We know that for many this is the first time you will be leaving your children in someone else’s care, and our staff is well-versed in helping with this transition for both parent and child.

No requirement for potty training

Unlike many preschools, we do not require potty training to start school, so you do not need to worry about forcing the process if your child is not yet ready to train.
