Gross Motor Activity: Encourages the use of muscles as well as imagination as they engage in fun, healthy exercises such as running, jumping and climbing.
Manipulative Activities: Such as blocks, Legos, puzzles and Play-Doh are used to strengthen small finger muscles, which will greatly help in learning writing and art skills.
FIne Motor Activity: Develops small muscle development and hand-eye coordination, such as puzzles,
finger-paints, crayons, etc.
Dramatic Play: Activities help children express themselves, practice life skills, improve social skills and build vocabulary. Children may pretend to be parents, cooks or caregivers imitating basic household tasks like cooking, cleaning and taking care of babies.
Literacy Development: Through story time. Use of felt boards and other visuals help to engage the children and promote better understanding of the stories. We also have a short, “quiet book time” in which children choose and look at books on their own.
Circle Time: Is a group gathering for stories and teacher-led songs/finger-plays, in which the children enrich social skills and expand attention span.
Art Activities: Introduce children to different medias, such as finger-paints, crayons, paintbrushes, etc. It also helps reinforce fine motor skills to move beyond the scribbling stage to help make the transition to proper pencil/crayon grip. Many of our art activities encourage children to use both hands together, which is known as bilateral coordination.
Science Activities: Provide many hands-on opportunities for observation, exploration, investigation, making predictions and experimentation. A sensory table helps to teach science concepts in a hands-on way, giving children the opportunity to touch and feel different materials.
Math Activities: Include counting and sorting using finger-plays, songs, books and games to develop beginner math concepts.
Media Exploration: Allows children to experiment with textures and the properties of different substances such as shaving cream, paint, markers, glue sticks, stickers and stamps.
